Indulge in the luxurious flavors of garlic butter lobster tails with this simple and elegant recipe. Perfect for impressing guests or creating a romantic dinner at home, this dish combines succulent lobster with a rich, buttery garlic sauce that elevates any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 lobster tails (about 6-8 oz each; choose fresh for the best quality and flavor; frozen can be used if thawed completely)
1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin is recommended for added flavor; opt for high-quality brands for the best taste)
Salt and pepper to taste (use kosher salt for better control over seasoning; freshly ground pepper is preferred for a bolder flavor)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (using unsalted allows you to control the saltiness and enhances the natural sweetness of the lobster)
4 cloves garlic, minced (choose fresh garlic for the best flavor; avoid pre-minced to ensure quality and potency)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (freshly squeezed, not bottled, for better taste and aroma; the acidity will brighten the dish)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (flat-leaf parsley is preferred for its flavor; it adds a pop of color as well)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional; adjust according to your heat preference; they can add a delightful kick)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to broil. Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the top of the lobster shells lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull apart the shell to expose the meat, being careful not to detach it completely from the shell.
Brush the exposed lobster meat with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet, meat side up.
In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice, chopped parsley, and red pepper flakes.
Generously brush the garlic butter sauce over the lobster meat, reserving a small portion for basting later. You can also pour some sauce into the shell.
Place the lobster tails under the broiler for about 8-10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and slightly golden brown, basting with the reserved garlic butter sauce halfway through cooking.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve the lobster tails with the remaining garlic butter sauce drizzled on top and garnish with additional parsley if desired.
